General Rules for Having a Pet in College
For some students, daily life involves being around a pet or pets. At college, however, animals usually arent allowed. So is it possible to have a pet in college? You Have a Few Options Those college students interested in having a pet in college have a few options. Mostly, however, pets are not allowed in places like residence halls ââ¬â or even on campus ââ¬â for a variety of reasons. Your campus is likely not trying to be cruel; they simply have to worry about issues of safety and regulations about hygiene that they are required to comply with. First and foremost, there are in fact some schools that allow pets on campus. These are the exceptions to the rule, however, and picking a school based on their pet policy may not be theà best choice. Additionally, even if your school of choice doesnt allow pets on campus, you can always rent a house with some friends or find an off-campus apartment that permits pets. Service Animals If youre a student who needs an animal with you for medical reasons (such as a service dog, for example), however, you should contact your school right away. Letting your college know that you need assistance ââ¬â both from them and your service animal ââ¬â as soon as possible is definitely of high importance. They should work with you to figure out a way to support you and your service animal during your time in school. Incorporating Animals Into Your College Life If, however, you would strongly just prefer to have a pet as part of your experience, there are some ways you can incorporate animals into your new college life: See whats allowed in your living space. Alright, so you cant bring along a dog or cat. But can you bring a fish or other small animal? Are there certain animals that are allowed, and if so, what are the regulations? Are there certain theme houses that allow their residents to bring pets with them?Can your family bring up your family pet for a visit? Lets say your family comes up the first Sunday of the month to take you out to brunch. Can they bring your family dog in the car for a quick visit? Are dogs allowed to walk on campus if theyre leashed? Will a monthly or occasional visit from your pet suffice?Consider volunteering at a shelter. If you just love ââ¬â and even need ââ¬â to be around animals but cant have one with you on campus, consider volunteering at a local animal shelter. You have a lot of love and patience to give and there are always animals in need. Check with your campus volunteer center, do some quick searching online, or even start your own campus group to help make regular volunteer sessions at a shelter a reality. Keep in mind, too, that when you go to college, it will be nearly impossible to recreate the life you had back at home. And thats part of the fun, right? If, deep down, you wanted things to be the same, you wouldnt have decided to go off to college in the first place. Be flexible in understanding that there sometimes is only so much your school can do. They might very well be limited about having pets in the residence halls, for example, because of city and county health regulations. Check in with your pet(s) during a Skype session with your parents and know that your pet(s) will be just as excited to see you as you will be to see them when you next return home.

We human beings are a melting pot of ingredients and spices that blend to define our essence as individuals. One such component that adds a definitive flavor to our respective recipes is sexuality. The basis in which the term sexuality is defined can appear deceptively simplistic. By a general definition, sexuality is a personââ¬â¢s sexual orientation or preference. Reality, however, has its sly way of skewing the fundamental meaning of human sexuality into a continuum, a spectrum rather, which encompasses aspects beyond just sexual orientation or preference. This intricate definition forged by society and the media- the reality of many nowadays- has become a more complicated and controversial subject, and now serves as the prominentâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Both my parents firmly adhered to the notorious stereotype of each member of the family having their designated role within the familial hierarchy. This notion created a repetitive, tautological cycle, with an apparent re curring pattern: the pairing of a man and a woman. This theme of pairing opposite sexes together set a fundamental understanding of how males like me are supposed to grow into a ââ¬Å"manâ⬠and fit the description of what a ââ¬Å"manâ⬠is expected to be according to how my family deemed it. He was famous for accidently finding, then colonising The New World, or commonly known today as, America. It has been commonly thought that Columbus was the first person to discover America, but Lief Erikson, a Viking of a few centuries prior to Columbusââ¬â¢ time, discovered America first. Christopher Columbus perished from gout in 1506. King Ferdinand II and Queen Isabella I, the Catholic Monarchs of Aragon, Castile, and Leon in Spain sponsored Columbusââ¬â¢ first journey. The IR issue of arc shoes in Egypt The problem in this shoe manufacturing company has been a continuous process. The common forms of protest have been strikes and it has remained a perennial problem. He was charged for an unethical reason without any proof. This resulted in the deduction of his salary as well. He was not even given a notice of this. This infused anger in many labors of the company. They landed in protest against this. They did not show any reaction to the protest of the workers. The union of the labors decided not to work anymore in the company. Steve Martha the executive manager was passive to the situation. He was not ready to listen to the labors. He was neutral to their demands. They landed up in strikes and rallies in front of the gate of the factory. The managing director of the company, Mr. Nejm Abdul El Amir Rasol took notice of the situation and he intervened into the matter much later. He considered this industrial crisis to be solved and he took initiative to pay attention to the needs of the demands of the workers. The further problem that arises immediately was the take over the company. The arc shoe manufacturers collaborated with the other shoe manufacturers of Egypt. The labors were not given the ultimatum of the same and they were all of a sudden asked to find another job (Jrgensen, Knud Erik). They were not given any other placement and morally it was not justified. The labors landed up in strikes and they opposed to work. This continued till few months. The stakeholders of th e company looked onto the matter and they resolved the situation. In case of the first situation the managing director solved the situation by conducting a personal meeting of the labor with the executive manager and an apology was asked to the labor for the verbal abuse that he faced. The pluralist theory has been applied here where the perspective of the labors and the unions have been focused on (Smith, et al). Main players in this issue The main players in this issue are the labors and the managing bodies against whom the situation has taken place. The initial crisis has taken place because of the executive manger who verbally abused the factory worker (Jackson, Robert and Georg Srensen). While the company was taken over by other shoe manufacturing company it was the people in the managing committee and the factory workers who were the main players. The managing director has played a major role in this by intervening and solving the problem Therefore he is another player in this situation. Al the players had a major role to play in this. All the players had their own perspectives and own point of view (Ferguson, Yale). Two main players (actors) The players are also known as actors in this situation. The actors have a major role to play in these situations. The situations are equivalent to crisis here. The most highlighted actors here are the labor who was abused and the executive who abused him. The situation is in favor of the labor. The crisis can be termed as the crisis in terms of industrial relations. The crisis has occurred in case of the industrial relations. The labor represented the entire workers of the factory as this same incident could happen to the labors in the future. Another reason behind this was the same class that the workers belonged in. The executive manager had the power to manage and take the initial decision regarding the factory. This is the reason the labor was dominated and he was penalized (Dunne, et al). The labor however was restored his job back with complete honor. Apart from this it was same in the case of shutting down of the factory and the takeover of the same by other company. The share holders made the decision without giving prior notice to the workers. The labors were the biggest sufferers in this case. The important actors in this case were the shareholders and the workers. The ultimate sufferers of the situation were the labors and the reason of their sufferings was the stakeholders of the company. However the actors that are to be highlighted are the labor that was unethically treated and the manger that was the reason behind it. This crisis was more unethical and a more important issue than the other issues (Dunne, et al). The reaction of the two actors in respect to the situations The labor refused and he protested against the situation. The executive manger who was accused reacted in a neutral manner towards the situation. The labor made hard efforts to prove himself innocent as he was wrongly charged and was accused in front of all the entire factory workers. Moreover he was charged for something that he has not done. The entire labor union went against the authorities (Booth, Ken and Toni Erskine). The reaction of the labor was expressed through protest and strikes. The reaction of the manager was passive. He was not ready to listen to the needs of the labors. He showed an adamant behavior towards the labors. The reaction of labors was violent and it ultimately was able to bring about a change in the decision of the management. The executive manager had to finally to apologize to the union members. This was the final reaction of the manager (Battaly, Heather). Analysis of the behaviors of the actors While analyzing the behaviors of the actors the theory of pluralists can be put forward. The pluralist theory includes that the organizations comprises of individuals who form distinct sectional groups which has own area of interests, objectives and leadership. This theory can be applied when there are conflict between the management and the employees which results from the industrial and organizational factors (Ludwig, David). This comprises of not only the industrial disputes and strikes but also the entire range of whole range of opposing and divergent behaviors between the owners of the industry and the mangers on one side and the working people and their organization and union on the other side. The theory can be applied in this crisis (Ackers, Peter). The crisis occurred between the mangers and the worker unions. It has laid over-emphasis on the interest alone. It overlooked the relevance of the values and the cultures. The workers in this case show a common interest but they d o not share the same value. The pluralists theory is therefore applicable in this case. The interests and the values play an important role in uniting the groups and also in dividing them. However from the analysis of the situation this can be stated that it is not necessary for the identity of the group to be deep rooted on any particular common group interest as some particular common value a significant role in such construction (Acharya, Amitav). Conclusion Therefore from the above analysis and the study of the issue it can be stated that the industrial relations are an important segment of any industrial sectors. The theories help to regulate these relations. The crisis needs to be tackled in effective manners. Answer: Introduction To sustain in the competitive market, organizations have to take necessary initiatives to adopt necessary changes in their organization that helps them to improve their performance. Effective changes in the organization also help to get competitive advantages in the market. Adaptation of necessary changes can be of various forms namely technical changes, organizational changes etc. According to Blokdijk (2012), the effective ways to adopt the necessary changes in the organizations are understand the necessary changes, implement the changes, review the outcome of the changes and takes necessary initiatives to make necessary changes in order to improve the performances of the organization. As the employees are the core resources of the organizations, they also have significant role in the change management procedures. Here, the chosen article describes the role of employees behavior in the organizational change management process. Main body Analysis Topic of the article The article chosen here is named as Influence of Participation in Strategic Change: resistance, organizational commitment and change goal achievement by Rune Lines. As per Burnes (2013), the article is based on the topic of influences of the employees in the organizational change management process. Objective of the article The main objectives of the article are to understand the negative effects of the employees behavior on the organizational change management that acts like a resistance in the smooth running of the organization (Cameron Green, 2014). The article also aims to identify the positive responses of the employees in the strategic changes of the organization that leads to improve the performances of the organizations. The methodology and means of analysis used in the article The research work of the chosen article is based on a telecommunication company which had more than 17,000 employees (DiBella, 2013). The scenario of the research work is based on the scenario of the year 1998, when the organization takes various initiatives as a part of their change management process to expand their business and improve their performances. The mangers of various department of the organization were taken as the respondents of the research work. The total number of respondents for the research work is 250. The respondents had to answer various questions on the change management process based on their experiences on the topic (Carroll, 2012). There were total 138 numbers of questions in the suggested questionnaires sets. The respondents were asked to answer the questions via emails. They were asked various types of questions like participation of the employees in the change management process, the veto power of the employees, various types of resistances to the change management process, loyalty factors, cost efficiency and compatibility. The received data were analysis using various data analysis techniques. So, the researcher takes the quantitative research methodology approach to do the research work. The argument advanced in the article As per the Procedural justice theory of change management, the process design and strategies of the execution of the processes are the two major components of the deciding factors of the participants. As per "Special issue on management accounting change in Japan" (2010), the management of the organizations should take necessary initiatives to make the organizational change management process effectively that helps the organization to enhance their productivity and also leads to satisfy their employees. Findings of the article The research work is based on a large scale telecommunication organization. The respondent managers of the organization were asked various questions on the topic of organizational change management process. The outcome of the research identified various aspects of the effective organizational change management process. As per the research work, the employees have great role in the organizational change management process (Downs, et al, 2012). The employees also have the veto power of the organizational change management process that acts like the resistance in the smooth running of the organizations. The managements of the organizations should takes necessary initiatives to train their employees with the new changes in the organizational management process in order to increase their performances that lead to increase the productivity of the organizations. The implications for managers during organizational change processes To take adopt necessary changes in the organizational management processes, the managers have to take effective strategies for implementing the necessary changes. The article identifies the necessary steps to implement the necessary changes in the organizations that are identification of the necessary changes, taking effective ways to implement the necessary changes, continuously monitoring the effective processes of the organization and takes necessary changes in their organizational processes as per the situation demands. As per "Special issue on management accounting change in Japan" (2009), organizational change management process is a continuous process and the managers have to properly monitor the performances of the organization and also have to implement the necessary changes as per the situation demands. The managers also should take the initiatives that help the organization to increase their productivity and performances that directly affect the smooth running process of the organizations. Increase in the productivity of the organizations helps them to get competitive advantages in the market that directly affects their profits earned. The employees have significant roles to increase the productivity and customer services of the organization; so the managers should take the effective steps to increase the performances of their employees (Steele, 2015). The managers should take necessary initiatives to implement latest technologies in their organizations in order to increase the productivity of the organizations. Besides they also should arrange effective training programs for their employees to familiar them with the technological changes of their organizations (Fitzgerald Eijnatten, 2012). Effective training programs lead to motivate the employees to their work, besides this it a lso leads to create job satisfaction for the employees. Job satisfaction and motivation helps the employees to adopt the necessary changes of the organizations. In this ways by taking necessary initiatives the managers can reduce the negative effects of the employees in the organizational change management process. Critical Analysis: Critical analysis of the research work is essential in the sense to identify the major advantages and disadvantages of the research work. As per "Special issue on Management accounting change in Japan" (2010), critical analysis also helps to understand the future scopes of the research. Strengths The research work considers the most important factor of the organizational change management process that is the role of the employees on the effective change management process (Goksoy, n.d.). The research also indentifies that to improve the performances of the employees the organization has to arrange proper training program for them to familiar them with the latest changes in the organizations. Weaknesses There are many major draw backs of the research that leads to affect the outcomes of the research effectively. As per Green (2014), the researcher was not made any attempt to measure the authenticity of the outcomes of the research work. In this research the researcher uses only single key informants to gather related information about the topic. The motivational factor of the employees has significant effect on their behavior; but the researcher did not consider this factor during the research work. The article did not include the ways to motivate the employees to adopt the necessary changes in the organizations. According to Gover Duxbury (2012), the research only consider the mangers of the organization as the respondents of the research work, the research did not consider the opinions of the other employees of the organization; so the outcome of the research is not up to the mark. Conclusion The research work of the chosen article is based on the role of employees on the organizational change management process. Besides the various advantages of the research work, it also has some drawbacks. Further research work should be made by taking suitable initiatives to validate the data of the research work and the researchers also should consider multiple informants to collect information about the topic for its better outcomes.
